The Ibanez SML721 is a product of the innovative, cutting-edge, and pioneering Axe Design Lab, complementing the S series' signature sculpted body with a multi-scale six-string design. The combination of a 25.5-inch scale for the low E string with a shorter 25-inch scale length for the high E string provides better playability, allowing a softer feel for the plain strings while not sacrificing the tension of the wound strings. The nut is perpendicular to the strings for a traditional feel when when playing chords on the lower frets. The SML721 is also equipped with clearly defined and balanced Q58 humbucking pickups, dyna-Mix switching, Mono-Rail bridge, and Gotoh locking tuners.
