The LS-308 is a problem solver - a microphone designed specifically for when isolation is needed, but difficult to achieve. Dark By Design
Creating a microphone with such strong off-axis rejection had a unique timbral side-effect -- a sound similar to a ribbon microphone, but without the fragility. This classic timbre can be further shaped with two analog filters that allow for immediate sound-shaping right at the source.
High SPL & Dynamic Range
Capable of withstanding a staggering 135dB of SPL without internal padding, the LS-308 is nearly impossible to overload. Capture the loudest sound sources reserved for dynamic microphones with ease.
Premium Components
The LS-308 signal path is finalized with high resolution, low distortion polypropylene capacitors and resistors, a US made low-noise FET, and a custom wound output transformer. The result is a massively impactful sound with unmatched isolation and SPL handling.
Analog Sound Shaping
Two dedicated filters allow for immediate sound-shaping right at the source, removing the need to change out microphones in order to get the sound you want. Record a tight and bright snare drum or a dark and sultry vocal at the flip of a switch.
