Vox Bobcat and Lynx semi-hollow body guitars were produced in Italy during the mid-1960s. They featured unusual pickup configurations and a distinct look, which Vox has revived in the Bobcat V90. As befitting their revival, Vox kept the historic design of this guitar unchanged but brought it up to date by improving its playability, controlling acoustic feedback and raising the performance of the pickups. Bobcat V90 Bigsby is a semi-hollow body guitar that features soapbar pickups and a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. It has a vintage-inspired design that mostly stays true to the original Italian-made Lynx guitar but features some modern improvements.
- Semi-hollow guitar with two P90 pickups
- Bigsby B70 black vibrato system
- Set neck construction and weight-relieved center block
- Modern recreation of classic Italian-made Vox pickups
- Ebony fretboard provides a soft feel and natural tone
Built-in Bigsby vibrato tailpiece
The Bigsby vibrato tailpiece was introduced on guitars in the 1940s and has since been a dominant standard used on guitars from many manufacturers. Probably the greatest merit of the Bigsby is how it captivates players at first sight with its rustic appearance. In terms of sound, adding a Bigsby to a guitar brings a characteristic brightness in tone with a strong sound that comes to the forefront.
Soapbar pickups that handle music of many genres
A stylish soapbar type single-coil pickup is featured on this model. This pickup offers a brilliant high-end with a characteristic wide sonic range. The pickup is suitable for a variety of genres, including rock, fusion, jazz and more.
Improved playability
The neck joint uses a set neck method that makes it easy to play even on the higher frets. The fixed Tune-o-matic bridge allows the optimal neck angle for easy playing, significantly improving the playability when compared to the original.
Semi-hollow structure suppresses acoustic feedback even during high-volume performance
The semi-hollow body structure uses a weight-relieved center block, increasing sustain while being resistant to feedback even at high volume levels.
Grover open-gear tuning pegs
These models feature lightweight Grover open-gear tuning machines that more readily convey string vibrations, making the guitar easier to tune. This mechanism offers stable tuning even when playing for long periods of time.
