At the heart of these guitars are Squier SQR alnico single-coil pickups positioned in a "special" configuration with the middle pickup near the bridge pickup for a unique variety of dynamically responsive settings. High-performance components include a 2-point tremolo bridge on the Contemporary Stratocaster Special and a string-through-body hardtail bridge on the Contemporary Stratocaster Special HT.
