ADAM Audio Sub10 Pro 10" Powered Subwoofer
Combining advanced DSP with powerful low-frequency reproduction, ADAM Audio Sub10 Pro provides a solid foundation for stereo and mulitchannel monitoring. As part of ADAM Audio's latest generation of networked subwoofers, it pairs a high-excursion 10" woofer with an FEA-optimised bass port and a high-performance Class D amplifier to deliver tightly controlled bass.
A comprehensive range of professional connectivity and control options can be found on Sub10 Pro's backplate. Alongside precise phase and crossover adjustment, it provides AES3 digital I/O, balanced analog I/O via XLR and TRS, and a dedicated footswitch input for activating or bypassing bass management.
Network connectivity facilitates extensive management and calibration options through ADAM Control, the dedicated software for networked ADAM Audio products. Users can time-align the subwoofer, fine-tune its response across four bands of parametric EQ and run Sonarworks calibration profiles directly on its integrated platform. ADAM Control also enables firmware updates, allowing future functionality to be added to the subwoofer.
Sub10 Pro offers three operating modes to accommodate different monitoring applications. Stereo provides straightforward routing for conventional 2.1 systems, while the dedicated LFE setting is optimized for immersive workflows such as Dolby Atmos. Wide mode allows full-range playback, providing flexibility for equalization elsewhere in the signal chain.
The extensive technology inside is housed in a robust wooden enclosure, with a sturdy metal grille providing protection for the 10" woofer. Designed for long-term use, Sub10 Pro comes with a 2-year warranty that can be extended to 5 years through product registration.
ADAM Control
ADAM Control is the calibration and management platform for all networked ADAM Audio products. The extensive tuning and phase controls of Sub10 Pro can be attenuated remotely and in real time over Ethernet. ADAM Control is available to download free of charge for macOS and Windows from the ADAM Audio website. Once installed, you can control multiple subwoofers and A Series monitors at once, precisely adjusting equalization and delay settings from various listening positions in your studio space. ADAM Control also facilitates firmware updates, allowing new features to be added to Sub10 Pro over time.
Automated room correction via Sonarworks
Sub10 Pro is designed to complement ADAM Audio's Sonarworks-ready, award-winning line of A Series monitors. It features a platform on the subwoofer's DSP that can host advanced filters created in Sonarworks SoundID Reference (sold separately). Using Sonarworks and a measurement mic, you can calibrate stereo and multichannel A Series and Sub10 Pro systems with ease.
High-performance woofer
The heart of Sub10 Pro is its high-excursion, low-distortion woofer. Made from a fibre-reinforced paper material, the cone is further strengthened by an elasticated rubber surround that permits considerable excursion while maintaining its mechanical design. The precision geometry of the ferrite magnet system is completed by demodulation rings that stabilize voice coil inductance. The considered design of the woofer extends to the advanced ventilation of all moving parts to minimize unwanted noise.
Digital connectivity
AES3 is a professional standard for transmitting digital audio between interfaces and loudspeakers. Both the AES3 input and output connectors on Sub10 Pro can carry two channels of digital audio up to 24-bit resolution and sample rates of 96 kHZ. By maintaining signal in the digital domain fewer conversions are required and higher quality audio can be transmitted over longer distances.
Powerful amplification and unfaltering DSP
Sub10 Pro features a Class D amplifier that drives the woofer in a highly efficient manner at all listening levels. A smartly designed limiter works in tandem with the amp so the woofer can be driven to its extremes while always protecting the circuitry and mechanical components. The amplifier and limiter are managed by DSP-based electronics that benefit from consistent crossovers, filters and equalization. Signal conversion is handled by audiophile-grade converters carefully selected by ADAM Audio to deliver outstanding performance.
FEA-optimized bass port
Finite Element Analysis is a computer-based simulator that was used to model airflow over Sub10 Pro's bass port. By creating thousands of samples of its surface and aggregating how forces affect it, the most efficient curvature, flaring and effective length of the port could be calculated. This allowed ADAM Audio's engineers to achieve more consistent air speeds across the port length, which greatly reduces turbulence and results in impressive SPLs.
Multichannel ready
Alongside the Sonarworks platform for multichannel calibration, Sub10 Pro offers two operational modes that were designed for immersive audio. LFE mode features a specifically designed 120 Hz cutoff that conforms to Dolby's advice for LFE channels in Atmos systems. Wide mode allows the subwoofer to play full range, offering the maximum amount of flexibility for bass management elsewhere in the chain.
Berlin industrial design with robust cabinet and grille
Sub10 Pro features classic ADAM Audio design with a speckled finish to the bass port and matching curvature throughout. The cabinet is constructed from thick, vibration-resistant MDF wood that contributes to reducing unwanted resonances. There is additional bracing to support the port, and the woofer features a steel grille to protect the woofer when placed under desks. Sub10 Pro comes with a two-year warranty that can be extended to five years upon product registration.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Are the Sub8 Pro and Sub10 Pro compatible with the ADAM Control app?
Yes Sub8 Pro and Sub10 Pro are ADAM Audio's first subwoofers that are fully compatible with ADAM Control. ADAM Control is a free calibration and management software for macOS and Windows, connecting to the subwoofer over Ethernet. It lets you time-align the sub, adjust four bands of parametric EQ, and fine-tune phase and crossover settings remotely in real time. You can also control multiple subwoofers and A Series monitors at once, adjusting settings from your actual listening position.
Do the ADAM Sub Pro subwoofers support Sonarworks room correction?
Yes. Both models have a built-in DSP platform that can host calibration filters created in Sonarworks SoundID Reference (sold separately) with a measurement mic. This makes it easy to calibrate stereo or multichannel systems that combine A Series monitors with a Sub Pro subwoofer.
Are the Sub8 Pro and Sub10 Pro suitable for Dolby Atmos mixing?
Yes. Both include a dedicated LFE mode with a 120 Hz cutoff that follows Dolby's guidance for Atmos LFE channels, plus a Wide mode for full-range playback when bass management is handled elsewhere. A standard Stereo mode is also available for conventional 2.1 setups.
