The Alesis Kitstream is a compact recording, streaming, and content creation system for drummers who play acoustic kits and want great sound without a full studio setup. It mounts directly to the kick drum and combines a built-in stereo microphone with an integrated kick trigger, so a single device covers the whole kit instead of a pile of mics, stands, cables, and a mixer. Connect it to a computer or mobile device over USB-C and you have audio and MIDI ready for your DAW, livestream software, or social video app. Beyond capturing your acoustic sound, Kitstream doubles as a hybrid drum module, with 500 onboard sounds, effects processing, external trigger inputs, and custom sample import. Onboard recording, Bluetooth playback, Ableton Live Lite, and a 90-day Drumeo subscription round it out as a complete practice, recording, and streaming package.
Kitstream attaches directly to your bass drum and uses its built-in stereo microphone to capture the full kit from one position. Because it pairs that mic with an integrated kick trigger, you get a solid low end along with a natural picture of your snare, toms, and cymbals. There are no stands to position, no snake of cables, and no mixer to balance before you can hit record.
An automatic calibration wizard sets mic levels and trigger sensitivity to your kit and playing style in a matter of seconds. That means less time chasing gain settings and false triggers, and a consistent, reliable sound every time you sit down. It is especially helpful when moving between rooms, kits, or gigs.
A single USB-C connection sends audio and MIDI to your computer or supported mobile device, ready for livestreaming, video content, or DAW recording. Ableton Live Lite is included, so you can start tracking and editing right away. The kick trigger also outputs MIDI, opening the door to layering virtual drum sounds under your acoustic kick.
Four dedicated knobs let you balance acoustic audio, trigger level, reverb, and effects without menu diving. Adjustments happen in real time, so you can shape your mix between takes or mid-stream. It keeps the focus on playing rather than on software.
Kitstream can record directly to internal storage with no computer attached, holding up to 50 hours of audio with takes of up to 60 minutes each. Capture practice sessions, song ideas, or full rehearsals and play them back instantly to check your timing and dynamics. It is a simple way to hear your progress and catch details you miss while playing.
With 500 onboard drum and percussion sounds, 50 preset kits, and room for 100 user kits, Kitstream lets you blend electronic sounds with your acoustic drums. Add up to six external pads across three trigger inputs, and import up to 99 of your own WAV samples for custom one-shots, loops, or signature sounds. The acoustic kit stays at the center while electronics expand what you can play.
Built-in compression, EQ, 13 reverbs, and 26 effects help your drums sound polished straight out of the box. Tighten the kick, brighten the cymbals, or add a sense of space without any outboard gear or plugins. The result is a more finished sound for streams and social posts with minimal effort.
A 1/4-inch TRS input accepts an additional dynamic microphone, giving you flexibility to reinforce the snare, add a dedicated kick mic, place an overhead, or talk to your audience. Teachers can use it to communicate clearly during in-person or online lessons, and streamers can add commentary without a separate interface.
Stream backing tracks, lesson material, or your favorite songs over Bluetooth and play along with your kit blended in the mix. Stereo 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch headphone outputs make monitoring easy, while an 1/8-inch aux input handles wired sources. Dual 1/4-inch TRS main outputs connect to a PA, powered speakers, or a front-of-house mixer for live use.
