The greatest attraction of the RK series is its beautiful body shape that refuses to be bound by the constraints of keyboard instruments. The wooden body is strongly influenced by guitars, featuring a design that includes both strength and softness to generate an enduringly ageless attractiveness. RK-100S 2 features a clear finish that lets the woodgrain show. Although it is an electronic instrument, each individual unit is finished with careful attention, making it an instrument with a distinctively unique presence that will continue to provide the joy of ownership. RK-100S 2 has a wealth of built-in programs with a generous complement of lead synth sounds and other solo sounds that let the musician shine. The sounds emitted from this compact body are supremely powerful, and these sounds can be instantly accessed during a live performance by using the favorite buttons on the top panel. Also provided is an arpeggiator with a diverse range of patterns.
Both looks and keyboard feature an understated design that will feel comfortable for any player. RK-100S 2 uses an acclaimed 37-note slim keyboard. While keeping the overall size compact and lightweight, Korg has focused on making this mini-keyboard uncompromisingly playable.
RK-100S 2 is designed for your aggressive performance style, with two ribbon controllers that you can use to dynamically modify the sound. The short ribbon provided on the neck area lets you control the pitch bend and modulation that are indispensable for keyboard performance. The long ribbon located on the keyboard area can be used to control the pitch or filter cutoff frequency. You can use this to create bold and smooth sweeps for sustained sounds. Furthermore, it supports scale performance, where notes can be plated simply by touching the ribbon, giving you free rein for unconventional performances that would not be possible with standard keyboard playing.
RK-100S 2 can be powered by six AA batteries. Simply connect headphones to the instrument or use a cable to connect it to an amp and you're ready to start playing just like a guitarist. Since up to eight hours of continuous operation are possible, you can concentrate on your performance without having to bother with power cables on stage. Of course, you can also use an optional AC adapter if you like (sold separately).
The 1/8" mono external audio input accommodates mic input, so you can connect a headset mic and enjoy full-fledged vocoder playing. You can also connect a smartphone, tablet, music player, etc. as an external source input and have fun playing along with a favorite song.
RK-100S is not limited to playing its preset sounds: it is equipped with a MIDI output connector and a USB port, so you can also use it to play a soft synth or an external hardware sound module. Furthermore, its elegant looks make it a great choice as a master keyboard. You can also use the free software editor to load detailed settings for MIDI and the internal sound engine from Korg's website.

Korg USA Warranty Policy
All Korg products purchased from a Korg USA authorized dealer are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship to the original consumer for a period of one (1) year.
Register your new Korg keyboard, keyboard rack module or digital piano online and receive a certificate that extends the product warranty for an extra year from the date of purchase. Product must be registered within 90 days of purchase to receive an extra year of warranty.
Tuner and Metronome products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship to the original consumer for a period of three (3) years.
Tubes, AC Adapters and Foot Switches are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship to the original consumer for a period of ninety (90) days.
The customer must provide proof of purchase in order to obtain warranty service. The dated sales slip or copy thereof is the only acceptable proof of purchase.
The product must be purchased from a Korg USA authorized dealer and have a valid serial number.
This warranty is valid only in the USA.
Damage resulting from the following causes are excluded from the warranty set forth above: misuse, including damage occurring during shipment, damage caused by battery leakage, accident, fire, unauthorized repairs, tampering, cosmetic damage or other types of damage which are the result of improper handling or abuse; the cleaning of controls or contacts due to exposure to dirty, dusty, or otherwise contaminated environment; damage resulting from modification; damage to units used for loan or rental.
