VAD716 takes the electronic drumming experience where it's never gone before, combining Roland's flagship V-Drums technologies with the handcrafted detail of premium-grade acoustic drums. This top-of-the-line V-Drums Acoustic Design kit features digital snare, ride and hi-hat pads that bring ultra-detailed playability to the three most nuanced pieces in the kit. The next-generation V71 module provides unmatched tone, feel and response coupled with deep editing tools to fully personalize your sound and pro connectivity to take on any playing situation. Full-size wood shells are included throughout with advanced sensing systems that deliver real-deal acoustic feel.
The V71 is the deepest and most advanced sound module Roland has ever produced. The famous hands-on V-Drums workflow remains, but everything else has been overhauled, rebuilt, and refreshed. Ultra-powerful DSP and greatly expanded waveform memory unlock a universe of creative expression never before possible. Preset changes, sound edits, and mix adjustments are smoother and faster than ever, thanks to the vivid color display, updated workflow features, tactile controls, and ergonomic panel layout.
The V71 features a built-in Roland wireless adapter that links with your network, letting you access sound content directly via the Roland Cloud Connect app on a mobile device. Bluetooth audio/MIDI is also available, allowing you to jam with songs on your phone, play along with video lessons, wirelessly record MIDI in music software, and more.
Sometimes, you need specific sounds to support an artist on tour. Or maybe you rely on a personal sample collection to reinforce your acoustic drums in studio productions. The module’s sample import function makes it easy to customize your palette and build any sound you can imagine. Each pad assignment provides three layers that can include any combination of internal sounds or external samples.
All the built-in sounds and V-Drums Instrument Expansions come finely tuned and ready to play, with no adjustment necessary. But if you like to personalize the details, enhanced V-Edit tools let you dive deeper than ever. Virtually adjust any drum or cymbal just as you would an acoustic instrument, from head types, damping, and tuning to snare wire tension, mic distance, and much more.
The V71 rear panel offers balanced outputs for professional audio connections, including XLR and 1/4-inch stereo main outputs and eight 1/4-inch direct outputs. Three high-speed trigger inputs support Roland's advanced digital pads, while 14 analog trigger inputs offer full compatibility with standard V-Pads. There’s also a stereo mix input—perfect for blending in an external instrument such as an SPD series percussion pad—plus an assignable footswitch jack and an SD card slot for data backup, sample import, audio file playback, and recording.
Use the module’s integrated USB audio/MIDI interface to communicate with DW Soundworks, the V71 Editor, and other music software. And capture up to 32 audio channels in your DAW over a single cable. Traditional MIDI I/O is also available to connect with all types of MIDI hardware.
The PD-14DSX takes digital snare technology to a new level of acoustic realism and playing comfort. The softest articulations are translated in astonishing detail, and hand position is automatically detected for seamless transitions between headshots, rimshots, and cross-stick playing. A throw-off mechanism turns the snares on or off with the flip of a lever, while a knurled strainer knob lets you dial in snare tension with a twist. The knob also doubles as a push control for easy operation of different module functions.
The VH-14D is a true game changer, bringing unparalleled touch sensitivity, tonal variation, and open/closed resolution to electronic hi-hats. The top/bottom cymbal design provides a familiar look and feel, while the high-res detection system captures stick articulations and footwork in flawless detail.
With its standard size, familiar motion, and ultra-detailed response, the CY-18DR will inspire the most expressive ride players. The high-resolution, multi-sensor system detects every stroke from edge to bell for precision dynamics and response. Techniques from cymbal rolls to soft bell strokes are fully translated, and you can mute the bow and bell with a finger touch—just like an acoustic ride.
Building a low-noise electronic kick pad with an authentic acoustic playing feel is trickier than it seems. The Roland drum team has spent years working on this challenge to bring you the best-feeling kick pads, no matter the size. Through careful study, detailed analysis methods, and innovative materials and construction, Roland kick pads deliver that deep, satisfying “thud” every drummer seeks—while also keeping in-room noise in check.
