Viscount Legend '70s FM Synth Sound Module
The synth architecture is based on that of classic FM synths: 6 operators each with standard parameters for tuning, output level, velocity sensitivity, and amplitude modulation sensitivity, 32 algorithms identical to the originals, 4 rates / 4 levels amplitude envelope generator and keyboard level scaling for each operator, pitch envelope generator for all the operators, LFO with 6 selectable waveforms, adjustable amount of feedback operator, oscillator sync (waveform phase reset), voice mode (mono / poly), portamento.
In add of these traditional settings, the FM SYNTH module features unique settings like stereo width, FM amount of modulant operators, a filter with adjustable cutoff frequency and resonance, general attack and release times. Read the Basics of FM synthesis section of the user manual to understand these settings and learn how they work to generate and shape the sound. Most of the sound generation parameters can be adjusted with the module panel controls. The main synthesis parameters are shown on the display, it is also possible to freely assign a parameter to each knob. Through the “Legend’70s Editor” application available for Windows, MacOS and iOS it is possible to control all the parameters and functions present in the FM SYNTH in real time and make the modification of new patches as simple as having a complete control panel. Thanks to the simple and intuitive interface of the Legend ’70s Editor, the control of FM SYNTH will be extremely comfortable and fast.
