DSU50 Stereo Sensor & Kick Trigger
The included DSU50 stereo sensor mounts directly to most bass drum hoops or to a standard microphone, camera, or lighting stand using 3/8" threading. It captures a full, natural stereo image of your entire kit while also providing a dedicated kick trigger that converts each bass drum strike into precise trigger data. This allows you to layer electronic samples in perfect sync with your acoustic playing. The DSU50 is also available separately and connects via XLR, making it compatible with a wide range of mixers, processors, amplifiers, and PA systems.
Flexible Inputs, Outputs & Expansion
The EAD50 module offers extensive routing and expansion options for acoustic, electronic, and hybrid setups. Five XLR/TRS combo inputs allow you to connect additional microphones or DSU50 units, while five splitable trigger inputs support up to ten triggers, plus two dedicated foot trigger inputs. Audio can be routed through eight balanced 1/4" outputs and two balanced XLR master outputs, giving engineers full control over individual drums and effects for clear, professional mixes in studios, rehearsal spaces, churches, and live venues.
Hands-On Control & Intuitive Operation

Is the EAD50 a standalone sound module?
Yes. The EAD50 operates as a self-contained sound module and USB audio interface, with onboard processing, effects, and routing. For acoustic and hybrid setups, you can connect the included DSU50 sensor unit, additional DSU50 unit, external microphones, and additional drum triggers or electronic pads as needed.
Can I connect the EAD50 to a phone, tablet, or computer?
Yes. The EAD50 supports Bluetooth MIDI for wireless control, Bluetooth Audio or AUX input for playing backing tracks, and USB for multitrack recording, streaming, online lessons, or use with Rec’n’Share.
Does the EAD50 support recording and live streaming?
Yes. The EAD50 operates as an 8-in/10-out USB audio interface, allowing multitrack recording into a DAW and direct streaming to platforms such as OBS.
Is the EAD10 sensor unit compatible with the EAD50?
No. The EAD10 sensor unit was designed only for the EAD10 system. The EAD50 is intended for use with the DSU50 sensor unit or standard external microphones.
Are the companion apps included at no cost?
Yes. Both the EAD Touch and Rec’n’Share apps are free to download and use.
How many external microphones can be connected at once?
The EAD50 provides up to five microphone inputs for external mics. Two are needed to use the included DSU50 sensor unit. So there are 3 extra mic inputs if using the included DSU50.
Why should I add a second DSU50 sensor unit?
The included DSU50 unit will attach to your bass drum (providing a kick trigger output for layering samples), and also provide a stereo image of the drum kit including snare, toms, cymbals, etc. Adding a second DSU50 as a stereo overhead microphone or room microphone (connected to MIC/LINE INPUT: 3,4) will provide more depth and dimension to your sound, giving you even more options in processing and recording.
Does the EAD50 support external drum triggers or pads?
Yes. Dedicated trigger inputs and USB Trigger Link support allow external pads and triggers to be added to hybrid drum setups. Trigger inputs support 2-zone pads and cymbals, or can be split with a breakout cable to add 2 mono triggers per input.
Can I route individual drums to separate outputs or DAW tracks?
Yes. Multichannel USB audio and flexible internal routing allow individual drums and trigger sources to be assigned to separate tracks or outputs.
Is the EAD50 suitable for small PA systems or in-ear monitor setups?
Yes. Balanced outputs and configurable routing make it easy to feed a small PA, stage monitor, or in-ear monitoring system.
